Kristina Newby
Majority Owner & Partner of Sunshine Solar, LLC
Kristina Newby is responsible for all Accounting, IT, and Human Resources at the company. She and her husband purchased the company in January of 2020 with a strong belief in the growth and viability of the commercial solar industry, and an even stronger belief in Sunshine Solar’s ability to be one of the largest commercial installers in the country.
Steve Newby
Chairman and CEO of Sunshine Solar, LLC
Steve Newby is the owner and Chairman of Sunshine Solar LLC. As Chairman, he is responsible for the strategic growth and organization plan of Sunshine Solar. Steve and Kristina purchased Sunshine Solar in January of 2020 with a vision to help grow the company into one of the premier commercial solar installation companies in the country. Steve brings a wealth of experience in effectively growing a business as the Founder and former CEO of Summit Midstream Partners LP, a NYSE listed oil and natural gas pipeline company. He has financed and built over $3 billion of projects in the energy industry and has executed over $2 billion of mergers and acquisitions.
Scott Newby
Vice President of Operations, Sunshine Solar, LLC
Scott Newby is the Vice President of Operations and brings over 10 years of project management and execution experience and 20 years of construction experience to the Sunshine team.
Meghan Roecklein
Project Manager
Meghan Roecklein is an accomplished senior manager who has worked across industries to drive growth and operational excellence in startups as well as Fortune 500 companies.
JD Anderson
Director of HR
JD started in HR for an oil and gas company based out of Houston, TX in 2015 beginning as an HR Analyst and working out of the Atlanta, GA office. He moved to their Houston office in 2018 and eventually moved up to a Senior HR Business Partner being the primary HR contact to all leaders of the organization. Recently, he has moved back to the Atlanta, GA area to take on this new role with Sunshine as an HR Director, and moving into the exciting world of solar energy.
Chris Hanson
Controller
Chris is responsible for the management of Sunshine's accounting and financial reporting group. He was formerly the Controller of REEF Technology, the largest operator of mobility and logistics hubs in the US, Canada, and Europe. Prior to Reef, Chris was with Summit Midstream Partners accounting group. Chris has a BSBA and MSA in Accounting and is a former US Marine.
Temi Folorunsho
Junior Project Manager
Temi is a junior level project manager professional with experiences in Renewable Energy, Telecommunication and Oil/Gas. In western Africa, she assisted in the deployment of cell sites that now facilitate and extend telecommunication accessibility in the remote regions of the continent. She moved to the United States in 2018 for her second degree after obtaining her first degree in Biochemistry. She worked as an Assistant project manager in a solar firm which sparked her interest in the solar industry.
Thomas Cleveland
Thomas is an Analyst and Estimator for Sunshine Solar LLC. In his position, Thomas analyzes data from previous projects, weather data, and our team in the field to provide clients with the most accurate and informed estimates. Thomas graduated from the University of Kentucky with a BS in Econometrics while also double minoring in Data Analytics and Business Administration. Thomas moved to Atlanta from Macon, Georgia in February of 2022.
Ka'eo
Health and Wellness Manager
Ka'eo (Hawaiian for strong and wise) works part time in the afternoons as our health and wellness manager. His job is to keep everyone happy in the office. Although new to solar, Ka'eo loves the sunshine along with apples and scratches behind the ears.
